A Basic Understanding Of The Trabuco

What is a trabuco? A trabuco is a trebuchet and it was a premiere weapon of war during the Middle Ages. The word trabuco means trebuchet. The word trebuchet is a French word that means to overthrow or topple. These war machines arrived in Europe between 400 A.D. and 550 A.D.

Trabucos did not become popular until the times of the first crusades. Armies have been using them but they were only utilized by a few armies who understood how these magnificent machines operated. Early trabucos were complex technology during their time. Only skilled and knowledgeable engineers and soldiers could work these apparatuses.

The trabuco stood between 20 to 30 feet tall. An army could build their units as tall as they desired. The crew that operated the trabuco had to know how to assemble all of the parts of this machine. Some trabucos were mounted on wheels which made it easier for soldiers to transport and move around on the battlefield. Other trabucos had to be assembled from scratch.

The parts that were used to assemble a trabuco had to be transported in wagons. There could be as many as 30 wagons used to haul parts for one large sized trabuco. Once the unit was put together, a crew would have to fire the projectile at their enemy. Some trabucos could lunge 2000 pound rocks at enemy fortresses.

Crews would have to move heavy stones onto the sling part of the trabuco. They would have to use leverage and lots of muscle power to move the 2-ton stones into position according to pt.bab.la. Once they were positioned into the heads of the slings, they could then be released to send boulders and large bricks crashing into competitor’s defenses.

Different armies used different type of munition for their trabucos. Some used fiery pitch and others hurled dead bodies and even chopped off human heads into a defender’s position. They also loaded the trabucos up with darts that would litterly scatter into the air over an enemy position. Then it would fall like a cloud of arrows down onto the people and their fortifications. The trabuco became a primary weapon of war during the crusade era according to lista.mercadolivre.com.br. However, by the beginning of the 1500s they had started to go out style. Many armies back then were switching over to the use of gun powder and cannons.

Hussain Sajwani and the DAMAC Group

Hussain Sajwani also was known as Donald Trump of the Middle East, is the Founding Chairman of Dubai-based luxury real estate developer DAMAC Group, which he founded in 2002.

He graduated from the University of Washington with two Bachelor’s degrees in Industrial Engineering and Economics in 1981, then later started his career as a Contracts Manager in GASCO, a subsidiary company of ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company).

After a year in GASCO, he established his own business, Draieh General Trading Company and in 1982 started his catering venture.

The DAMAC owner started out in the food services business, catering to the U.S military and construction giant Betchel. As Dubai allowed foreigners to own property in 2001, the DAMAC owner shifted to real estate where he sold units in a residential building in less than six months. As a result of his expertise and gift of practical insight, the DAMAC owner grew certainly to be one of the pioneers of Dubai’s property market expansion in the 1990s. These skills certainly contributed to DAMAC Group becoming one of the biggest property developments in the Middle East soon after it was founded in 2002.

DAMAC group is the UAE Company most often associated with glitzy property developments, eye-catching marketing stunts (“a free Bentley with every luxury apartment”) and most recently, exciting golf course projects with Donald Trump.

The DAMAC owner is hoping to enhance his business ties with Donald Trump’s real estate firm. The Trump Organization is looking forward to investing in the desert kingdom of Dubai. The two real estate tycoons who celebrated New Year’s Eve together have been in collaboration with the Trump International Golf Club, where luxury villas have summed up almost $2 billion in sales. He prides in expected enhanced business deals with the president-elect in the days to come.

Hussain is also an active philanthropist who has given to many charitable causes and organizations such as the initiative launched by the Ruler of Dubai to provide support to disadvantaged children around the globe. Ronald Fowlkes Helps To Create Some Of The Best Military And SWAT Team Gear In The World

For more than 20 years, Ronald Fowlkes has helped to develop and deliver some of the world’s best quality gear for departments that work in the security sector. He previously served with the IWT Group in the capacity of dealing with its sales and development of its business, and he now works with Eagle Industries as its Manager of Business Development. He also works with FirstSpear as its Director of Business Development. His main duties revolve around him working with professionals within Law Enforcement and Military departments to better understand how to market the creative designs of the First Spears Product Development Group.

Ronald Fowlkes writes many different articles that he publishes on his Medium account, and these articles represent his many varied interests. As a coach of a youth league and a avid hockey fan, he has published some interesting articles related to hockey including one about how “Jeff Glass Finally Gets to the NHL,” and another asking the question “Is Fighting Becoming Obsolete in NHL?” In the latter article, he puts a spotlight on how fighting has always been a tradition in the NHL and how it is, unfortunately, losing its potency and effectiveness in the sport.

Ronald Fowlkes got started in the business he is in now during a time when he was working with the U.S. Marine Corps. During those days he kept recognizing FirstSpear’s gear in the equipment him and his partners were using. He noticed that it was brilliantly designed and that it managed to survive the heavy use it received. He went on to join the SWAT team in St. Louis and realized that it was using a lot of the same equipment. This is when he decided to learn more about the company that was based in his hometown. He now uses his first-hand knowledge about the equipment made by FirstSpear to sell it to others.

Ronald Fowlkes brings ideas to life through working with his team, and, in fact, he has always believed in the power of teamwork. His business development team works very closely with local and state law enforcement as well as the DOD to ensure that the equipment they create meets the necessary requirements. He has commented on the fact that many of the ideas used to build their equipment comes directly from people who have actually used it in the field. He accredits his company’s internal Research and Development team with taking the requirements that need to be met and creating the kind of equipment that does so. Ronald Fowlkes looks forward to continuing to help to create some of the best equipment in the world.

Frontera Fund: Supporting the DACA

A recent article on LaceyandLarkinFronteraFund.org is discussing the new threats that have been launched against the DACA program. The DACA program, or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, was established by the Obama administration in 2012 but was rescinded by the Trump administration in late 2017. The purpose of this act was to allow individuals who came to the United States as minors to receive deferred action on deportation and a work permit. This would allow them to hold down jobs and get a better education. The system is renewable and as of 2017, there are over 800,000 individuals that benefit from the program.

At this time, Congress has called for a stay on the action and has recommended a phase-out, instead of outright ending the program. The DACA program has only bolstered the living conditions of immigrants. It has been pointed out that in a lot of ways, it has reduced the number of illegal immigrants living in poverty and increased the wages earned by that sector of the population. Members have seen a chance to increase their own personal circumstance in ways that they never deemed possible. In fact, many explain that the DACA offers no major drawbacks and instead helps the economy in a meaningful way. The annihilation of the DACA program will be a huge setback for the immigrant population.

Even though there has been a call for the end of the DACA program, it does not mean that DREAMers or their supporters should give up. There is still much that can be done to help fight against this push against the DREAMers. The writer urges people to organize with the same ferocity that they organized with at the beginning of the movement. A vigor that resulted in the DACA program in the first place. There is always more that can be done, and giving up now would only rush the DACA program to an early demise.

One of the funds that help make programs like this possible is the Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund. This fund was started with the expressed purpose of helping the migrant population of Arizona. Founders Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin founded the Frontera Fund with the proceeds of a massive court case they won against the police department of Sheriff Joe Arpaio in Arizona. The settlement was issued after Lacey and Larkin were arrested in their homes for information that they had published in their newspaper, The Phoenix New Times. The journalist were pulled from their houses in a blatant violation of their human rights in October of 2007 and held for an extended amount of time.

After a huge public outcry, they were released and immediately filed their suit. Now they have dedicated the $3.7 million they won towards advancing the interests of another group that has felt the oppression of Sheriff Arpaio, the migrant population. It is the hope of Larkin and Lacey that individuals should never have to worry about their rights being violated because of who they are. The DACA program is just one of many that work the help the migrant population, and the Frontera Fund backs it enthusiastically.

Brighten the World with Color and Compassion

It has been said that the depth of a person’s heart can be measured by their love for animals. Doe Deere, artist, musician, and founder of Lime Crime Make Up produces vegan and cruelty-free cosmetics to improve confidence, and lift the spirit.

Lime Crime came on a whim with the creation of an eBay store. The name is as original as the woman who came up with it. One of the nice things about today’s world is that through the internet, the opportunities to develop a successful business are endless. According to Deere, anything is possible with a vision, a belief in yourself, and the courage to trust your instincts, and take a chance.

Creativity is nothing new for Doe Deere. From an early age she demonstrated a sense of adventure, inspired by the world around her. For Deere, every individual creates their own story, part of which is how one presents one’s self to the rest of the world. Through her own life experiences and self-discovery, she got to know herself well and, she understood that self-awareness is a key for connecting with consumers. That philosophy reflects the mission of her company to provide a product in demand that encourages self-expression and self-exploration. As a means for self-expression, Lime Green makeup boasts brilliant colors, and sense of style. For Deere, it was quite simple – develop a line of makeup that other companies were not offering, the crazier the color, the better. The concept caught on, and the rest is history.

Doe is, and always has been an entrepreneur at heart. Her journey from musician to one of the most successful female entrepreneurs (according to Self-Made magazine) brought her from Russia to New York to Los Angeles. New York, however, is where she came of age, matured, met her soulmate. New York is where she dared to dream then do something about it. Her journey has made her who she is today – businesswoman, mentor, and motivational speaker.

Deere has been asked many times what advice she would give to others with an entrepreneurial spirit. Her answer is to embrace that sense of adventure, run with it without looking back. Seek to exceed your potential without compromising your moral principles.

Doe credits her good fortune to her customers whom she says teach her how to improve her line of makeup. For her, it is simple. Listen, learn, and make a good thing better. Always trust your instincts.

With that in mind, she is aware that to be blessed carries a great responsibility to give back. Lime Crime Makeup has continued to make a difference in peoples’ lives, but Doe does not stop there. Deere has taken up the cause of animal welfare as a way to brighten up the lives of our furry friends. She donates to support no-kill shelters, and has also adopted animals herself.

For all the ways Doe has made the world a better place, for her compassion and kindness, I wish her continued success. Learn more: https://www.limecrime.com/pages/our-founder

Hussain Sajwani Completes The Circle of Success

As a schoolboy, Hussain Sajwani worked long hours after school for his father in the family business in Dubai. The variety store that his father owned sold Chinese imports, office supplies, and consumer goods, and although Hussain got lots of good experience, the long hours were at times a little too much for a young boy.

He told his father that when he grew up he would certainly not be a businessman because of the long hours, but that he would prefer to be a professional with a degree so he would be able to work regular hours.

Hussain earned a degree from the University of Washington majoring in economics and engineering. He then traveled back home to Dubai and worked for a Dubai gas company as an engineer. However, that career only lasted for a short time as he capitalized on a very good opportunity that came his way. He formed a catering firm that sold food to the United States Army during the Gulf Wars that occurred in that region in the early 90s.

That was a very successful business and it paved the way for Sajwani’s later successes. He learned a great deal about running a large business from that experience. The catering company is still in business today.

In 2002, Sajwani formed DAMAC Properties, a real estate development and management company. He had guessed correctly that when the UAE loosened the restrictions on immigration, allowing foreign nationals to permanently settle in the UAE, that there would be somewhat of a land and real estate boom. DAMAC would become the foundation of wealth for the Hussain Sajwani family.

That is exactly what occurred and people quickly took to the wonderfully built luxury apartments and villas that had rapidly become the trademark of DAMAC. Sajwani was a master promoter and marketer, and the demand was great because of his efforts. In fact, his first project was completely sold out before any construction had even begun.

The DAMAC owner was very conservative in running his business, as he always paid cash for the land, and financed very little of the rest of the project. In this manner, the entire business model was very solid.

Cells Phones as Weapons? The Urgent Public Saftey Issue of Inmates’ Access to Contraband Cell Phones

Cell phones and smartphones are awesome tools for connecting with friends and loved ones and for simply getting things done. Normally, a cell phone would never be considered a weapon, but prisons are not normal environments to say the least.

Robert Johnson definitely knows such environments very well. As a 15-year veteran corrections officer (CO) working primarily on one of the most difficult and dangerous tasks for a CO –- uncovering and seizing contraband -– Johnson experienced what a lot of prison workers dread. In March of 2010, his professional life came crashing into his everyday life with an ear-splitting bang.

A large man, an intruder, had exploded through Johnson’s door early that March morning with a gun, intent on killing him. As the pieces were fitted together later, it turned out that a particularly heinous prison gang had put a contract out on Johnson’s life about two weeks before, when he and his fellow team of officers had intercepted a package containing what was estimated to be $50,000 in undisclosed contraband.

While Johnson was shot six times in the torso, he miraculously survived. Seven years later he is in constant pain but refuses to stop his advocacy efforts to bolster his former co-workers in tackling the mounting public-safety problem of contraband cell phones in the hands of inmates.

Why is Johnson so tireless in his efforts? The despicable gang that arranged for the attempt on his life had both paid off and communicated with the would-be assassin by using a smuggled-in cell phone. Another example demonstrating why Johnson never stops advocating is the horrific and tragic case of the murder of a baby, coordinated via a cell phone by locked-up convicts trying to send a gang-land message.

To pay the bills as well as continue his advocacy efforts, Johnson now works as a consultant with Securus Technologies. Securus Technologies is an industry-leading provider of technology solutions for civil and criminal justice concerns all across the country.

Securus — in particular their innovative Wireless Containment Solutions (WCS) division — is the perfect place for Johnson to work at because they can boast of owning the nation’s only prison cell phone interdiction service.

After having spent a considerable length of time and money –- reports are that WCS cost over $40 million to develop and deploy -– Securus recently released their first internal data, in effect showing the technology in action. It showed that between July 2016 and July 2017, their WCS service stopped dead in its tracks 1.7 million unauthorized calls emanating from behind the eight prison walls where the service was active.

As part of his current work, Johnson was in Washington last March to testify before the Federal Communications Commission. The FCC is a huge player in Johnson’s and other public safety advocates’ efforts because the current federal law makes clear that any and all attempts to “jam” or wholly block a cell signal is illegal.

Securus Technologies’ ingenious side-step solution is to simply build their own miniature, on-site cell network to monitor calls originating from inside the prison. The service simply declines to allow any unauthorized numbers through to the wider network, though all 911 calls are allowed to connect.

He knows there are different things the company needs and he has tried to always give them the opportunities that will allow them to keep growing to new heights. Lime Crime: How Doe Deere Created Cosmetics for “Unicorns”

How did a Russian teenager go from dreams of making it big in the states as a musician to a bona fide makeup mogul? The same entrepreneurial spirit that inspired Doe Deere to bring temporary tattoos to Russia at only 13 years old would later help her create Lime Crime and fulfill the need for makeup in a wide variety of unconventional colors.

Deere immigrated to New York City in 1998 at the age of 17 and quickly joined a band. A fellow songwriter and bandmate from this time would even eventually become both her business partner and her husband. It was also around this time that she attended the Fashion Institute of Technology and majored in fashion design.

Deere has credited her fashion background as being intertwined with her interest in makeup, and it is indeed what led to the very beginnings of Lime Crime. Inspired by her favorite color, Deere registered the name for her eBay account in 2004 so she could sell items from her original fashion line.

It would be a decade after she arrived in the United States when Deere would bring Lime Crime to the makeup industry. It was 2008 when Deere began to notice the lack of makeup options for more adventurous colors. The natural look was in and the shelves were full of blushes and beiges, but none of the wild colors that Deere and others like her craved.

Lime Crime produces a variety of lipsticks, nail polishes, eye shadows, and hair dye in bright, eye-catching colors that don’t often otherwise get seen on the shelves in the beauty supply section. In keeping with her love of everything colorful and pastel, Deere refers to fans of her cosmetics as “unicorns.”

One of Deere’s self-proclaimed biggest accomplishments was making sure that Lime Crime was a cruelty-free and vegan brand of makeup, meaning Deere’s makeup is neither tested on animals nor contains ingredients derived from animals. Lime Crime brand makeup is certified by both PETA and Leaping Bunny, one of the strictest certifiers of cruelty-free products.

Deere lived in New York for around 14 years before moving to Los Angeles in 2012. Her story inspires others to create what they want to see for the like-minded audience that is almost certainly out there. It will be very exciting to see what Deere has in store in the future for her unicorns. Learn more: http://doedeerefam.com/
